Math DLO – choosing Compatible numbers

Talofa lava

This week for math, our DLO was choosing compatible numbers. Choosing compatible numbers was, if the equation given to you was too hard to sum all together, you had to put two of the numbers that will equal a whole number together and plus them together to get an answer (buy remember they have to be compatible). Then put the other number together and again you will get your answer. Sum up both of the numbers calculate them together and you will get you answer

For example:

280+360+140+20, 280 would go with 20 so the total would add up to 300

then do the same with 140 and 360=400, then go 400+300=700

T2/W5/24 – idioms

Talofa lava,

this week we had been given more idioms, Idioms that I have known for ages, Idioms that I don’t know. But as you can see 2 of the idioms are highlighted yellow and blue. The idiom that is highlighted in yellow is the idiom I know, and the idiom highlighted in blue is the idiom I didn’t know. But my favourite one was the one highlighted in green is my favourite one, (wasn’t an option) because it reminds me of when I am calmed and relaxed.

Which one was your favourite?

Talofa lava,

This week we have been doing prefixes, this week’s prefixes are mono. Where we have to match the meaning with the word. this week I have learnt some new prefixes and had fun looking for the actual meaning. I think that This was one of my favourite prefixes because I actually knew most of it, and didn’t have to search it up.

Have you heard any of these prefixes?

Which one?

this week Whaea Tanya had been challenging us by giving us some more advanced tasks by giving us extra solid idioms. This week’s assignments were similar to last week’s one where we have to use our prior knowledge and match the idioms with the definition. this week as always we were given 6 idioms.  I had fun finding out what the actual meaning for the idioms were, and maybe I will have more interesting idioms.

which idioms were your favourite?

Idioms

Talofa lava

This week our teacher Whaea Tanya, has been challenging us by giving us some challenging assignments to solve. To solve these idioms, we had to match the idioms and the definition together, and this week I have completed the task we were given as you can see. Some of the idioms I knew straight away, but some I had some help by looking at the hints our teacher has given us. One of my favourite idioms was, Catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Do you guys got a favourite idioms?

Why?

Family of factors division

Talofa lava,

This week’s math we have been doing a workshop with our teacher Whaea Tanya, we learnt a family of factors that are related to division. We learnt it by going around, sharing our ideas in what types of family of factors we already have known from the past years. This year’s term I learnt that factor + factor = addend, and I also learnt some new words that I haven’t heard before, divend, divisor, and quotient. But if I have left anything out please look through to see what I have  missed
